Byram
Nothing got past him when he came on and also got forward well at times. I was concerned that he isn't ready, but he has shown in preseason that he is the real deal. Excellent news, I think he will become a top player.

Re: Byram
Shame because Antonio is our Right back.

Re: Byram
Seemed to take it all in his stride, same as when he played last season. I'm sure he'll make an excellent reserve goalie.

Him, Makasku, Collins & Adrian played well!

Ludo's retired now jimbo?

Re: Byram
He's been our best full back since the day he chested it down and volleyed a perfect cross field pass on his debut against Man City. Bilic needs to be put on the spot about it, the media ask him a million nonsense questions, would be handy if someone actually fronted him about Antonio and we can hear exactly why he is persisting with a guy who is probably the best right winger in the prem and who also happens to have zero positional sense at full back.

Very good player. Got asked to do a job and done it.

Re: Byram
Need to get both him and Antonio in their proper positions.

Now seemingly all the attackers are dropping like flies again, we'll need him on the wing anyway.

With half the team dead it might do us a favour

Byram right back and Antonio in front of him next league game

Re: Byram
Very impressed indeed with young Byram. Surely he's done enough to prove he's our 1st (& only) choice at RB
He had Hazard in his pocket last night from the moment he came on
Once Cresswell is fit again we'll have 2 proper FB's for the 1st time in years, with a decent understudy at LB
We just need a RB to cover for Byram now
Our back 4 isn't as solid as it was last season with Tomkins not being replaced & Cresswell injured
Arthur looked a good solid buy on last nights performance

Antonio must play in front of him

Re: Byram
I like him. He's nearly 23 so if he's not ready to start games now he never will be.

Re: Byram
Very good defender.
Stick him in front of Antonio so he has less defending to do.

Re: Byram
Costa did him the second he came on but I'm not knocking the lad. Certainly we seemed less exposed down that side when he was on.

Re: Byram
Will have easier nights than an in-form Hazard as well.

Surely has to be the first choice right back.

Re: Byram
He did very well and needs to start there now with Antonio in front of him, that's if Bilic has not destroyed Antonio's morale

Tadlad 10:47 Tue Aug 16
Re: Byram
When Ayew got injured the obvious move was to bring on Byram and push Antonio up. Instead Bilic kept Antonio at RB and brought on the unfit and inneffective Tore at right wing - probably cost us a point when you think about Antonio giving away the penalty. Only then did he bring on Byram.
So its perfectly clear that Bilic doesn't rate Byram as much as most of us do.

Re: Byram
Agreed, Byram has earnt a good run in the right back spot and Antonio MUST play up the pitch, bloody disgusting to substitute him!

Re: Byram

Yes he looked quite solid, but are you really going into 4 competitions this season with just ONE proper right back in the squad?

What is our fucking problem with this position?

goose 11:41 Tue Aug 16
Re: Byram
he is 23 (?) years old and has played a large number of games in the championship, so why does he not start at right back??

hes not a kid
he is experienced
he is fit and ready to play

so why doesnt he start?????
